Merlin the duck was rescued by the workers of “Goats of Anarchy”, a sanctuary dedicated to special needs goats. Merlin had a defective left leg that left him completely immobile. So, the rescuers took pity on the disabled duck, and took him in.
Merlin was given a prosthetic for stability, but he still had trouble with movement. After extensive research and planning, the engineers from Walkin’ Pets modified a chair normally used for disabled cats and dogs, and tailored it to fit Merlin’s features.
In this video, we see Merlin set out to give his new custom-made wheelchair a whirl. We are moved to tears as we seem him take his first steps! With the wheelchair, Merlin will be able to waddle around, exercise, and attend water therapy sessions.
With continued therapy, Merlin is expected to get his strength back. This special wheelchair has given him a much needed new lease of life. We are so thankful to the engineers for using their skills in crafting such special wheelchairs to help pets all around the world. Merlin’s first steps have really warmed our hearts!
