A Twist of Colors: White Dogs Welcoming Black Puppies, A Tale of Unexpected Surprises in Canine Maternity!
Jacqueline Arguello, a dog owner based in Texas, got quite the shock when her two white-furred dogs gave birth to a litter of beautiful black puppies. This surprising turn of events led to some questions about the mother dog’s fidelity.
“When I witnessed the first black puppy being born, I couldn’t help but be amused by it,” Arguello shared with BuzzFeed. “And then the next one was black, followed by another and another!” she exclaimed.
As far as Arguello knew, her poodle was the only male dog that had been around her female canine, Mocca. However, the color of the puppies raised suspicions in Arguello’s family, leading them to wonder if Mocca had secretly gone out and mated with another dog.
While genetics might provide a straightforward explanation, it’s possible for two white dogs to produce black puppies if they both carry the dominant “black” gene. Colors from past generations can sometimes reappear in a puppy’s coat.
Nonetheless, Arguello found the situation quite amusing. “I’m just thrilled that we have these beautiful, healthy pups, and eventually, we’ll see if they resemble their father,” she said with a hearty laugh.
